Project „Wind of youth for local cooperation” was aimed at strengthening the dialogue between young people and decision-makers in the Opolskie Voivodeship, increasing the involvement of young people in decision-making processes, developing partnership and creating the basis for further activities.
The specific objectives of the project were:
- dissemination of the idea of structured dialogue in the Opolskie Voivodeship – increasing young people’s involvement in public life and decision-making
- creating a platform for a partnership debate between young people and local and regional authorities,
- making young people aware that they can have an impact on the surrounding reality,
- increasing the knowledge on the operation of local government,
- increasing the civic and social awareness of young people
- developing tools and strategies for action for the benefit of youth in the region
The project consisted of the following activities:
- an international seminar on youth policy
- common workshops for young people and government representatives
- work in teams
- local consultations
- study visit in Catalonia
- summarizing conference
The most important result of the project was the common development by young people and representatives of the authorities of the assumptions of the regional youth strategy in 5 areas: social and civic activity, education and the labor market, transport, health and ecology, culture, sport and recreation. It was an innovative activity on a national scale, as the resulting material is the first of its kind in Poland.
The project also served to exchange experiences and good practices at the regional, nationally and internationally level.
